A number of us use the described printer above. It has been performing alright for a very long while now. It is installed along with the Ethernet connection.
As of this time however, when the primary end user of the device, powers it up to use it, it initially pops up and will say “Ready”, then displays the IP address, then proceeds to an error state “49 Error” “Recycle Power”. Powering the device of and then back on fails to clear error.
We had discovered a document that advised ensuring that the device was not set to DHCP..

Remedy:
49 Error commonly indicates a firmware problem. Which generally may be as a result of to a formatter Assembly problem). However, in a couple of instances, be triggered by various computer sending a corrupt print job to the printer.
