HP Laserejt Pro MFP M477fnw – Paper Jam Clearing

You can always call for a printer or copier tech if you are uncomfortable working on the machine. Many of my customers dont realize that the M477 series has a pan that will drop down inside the printer, just above where tray 2 is.

If you take tray 2 out of the printer, you will see a little green push tab on the left hand side of the printer. Push that tab and a “pan” will drop down and give you access to a little more area. Basically, anything that is a green tab on this printer indicates a service area you can access to help clear jams.

Paper clips and bubble gum. Probably not recommended, but I have to custom make my own little special hooks to get paper tears fished out of machines all the time. Most printer techs like me carry around what is called a spring hook, which we use to fish parts and paper tears out of machines all the time. Also canned air can be used to blow the paper to an area where you can reach it easier.

Can also try and check the product support page for the user guide or troubleshooting steps to clear jams, but the page isnt loading for me currently, check the top issues and solution tab or manuals tab when it’s up. At least this way you will have a visual reference.
