HP Laserjet 600 – Not Printing

Questions:
Running OS X 10.8. Connected via IP. Used to print fine, now print queues show up, but always stuck on “Printing- connected to printer”. Downloaded HP drivers from ASU and from HP, uninstalled and re-installed; issue persists.Response:
Was your OS upgraded from a previous version of OS X?

The first thing I would try is to Reset the printing system.

To reset the print system perform the following:

1. Open System Preferences
2. Click on the Print & Scan
3. click or click in the box listing the current print queues.
4. Select Reset printing system…
5. Enter admin User Name and Password
6. Reboot the Macintosh
7. Try setting up the printer again

If the issue persists then Reset the printing system again.

And then:

Manually delete the HP printer software from the Mac. Go to ~\Library\Printers. Locate the hp folder. Drag it to the trash.

Go to ~\Users\HomeUser\Library\Preferences and delete all com.apple.print.x preferences

Open the Disk Utility and Repair permissions on the OS disk

Reboot the Macintosh
